How wonderful would that be?

My two cents on coronavirus...
⠀⠀
How wonderful it’d be to acknowledge that what happens at the other extreme of the world has an effect on us.
⠀⠀
How wonderful it’d be if a global occurrence could cause us to think that our health is in our own hands; thus taking care of our bodies is a matter of prevention and responsibility.
⠀⠀
How wonderful it’d be if we accounted for each death that happens worldwide with the same attention and regard as we have for the coronavirus spread. Aren’t statistics like four women being murdered every day in Mexico or 107 kids disappearing daily in India alarming? How wonderful it’d be to stand up to those causes together. How wonderful it'd be if no racial joke would go unnoticed nor any derogatory comment to another human being.
⠀⠀
How wonderful it’d be if we could appreciate the clean air and the clean water we can still enjoy.
⠀⠀
How wonderful it’d be if we realize that catastrophes are wake-up calls: A wake up from our dormant state of thinking that what happens to others has no business with us. A wake up to invite us to battle issues together because no matter our political orientation or country of origin, life and death happens unanimously.
⠀⠀
How wonderful it’d be if for once we would account for what really matters: quality of life, of food, of self-care, of relationships, of peace of mind.
⠀⠀
How wonderful it’d be for the world to act as one and for the first time in history to do so for love over fear.
⠀⠀
How wonderful would that be?
